The Chef’s Table At The Diplomat, Hamilton Ontario.

Ricotta Gnudi

This past weekend saw funny-man Kevin Hart in my hometown of Hamilton, at the First Ontario Centre for what I assume was an awesome show. In the days prior to the show I had quite a few people message me asking about dining options close to the venue. They all received the same response from me, The Diplomat on King William.

Back in November (2017) Tehya and I had the opportunity to not only dine at this newly opened establishment, we were afforded the opportunity to be the first people to feast at their awesome Chef’s Table.

The video below pretty much covers our entire dining experience, so I highly encourage you to take a few minutes and watch it. I’ll touch on some of the things which really stood out this night, then follow up with our MUST try dishes when you visit The Diplomat.

While The Diplomat had only opened their doors a few days prior to us dining there, the staff performed in a precise and courteous manner.  Yes! I said performed.. how else can one explain the smooth flowing technique in which they moved about the room with a welcoming smile on their face? Sitting at the Chef’s table you also saw what seemed like a seasoned and well groomed machine at work in the kitchen. There was an apparent respect for the Chef, but with an understanding that everyone had a role, a role which was equally important in every aspect of delivering jubilance on a plate to customers.

The food was top-notch, the overall atmosphere was conservatively energetic and vibrant, and the experience at the chef’s table was unlike any we’ve had in Hamilton. Maybe this is why I recommended The Diplomat to all those people who reached out for advice last week.

MUST Try!

  • Deviled Eggs
  • Beef Tataki
  • Crab Rangoon Dip with wonton chips
  • Pasta with wild mushrooms (seen above) I believe it was called Hen of the Woods at the time?

No, I’m not  a huge fan of Kevin Hart so I didn’t attend the live show.. savings my coins for another visit to The Diplomat!
