How To Clean A Stubborn Baked-On Greasy Casserole Dish.

youtube

We’ve all had the experience of that baked-on, greasy casserole dish to clean up after that lovely roasted chicken dinner (jerk chicken in the oven in my case). The sort of problem where you just want to toss the casserole dish out.. instead of treating the cleaning process as your daily ‘gym’ workout. After posting the picture of the amazing jerk chicken dinner we had for dinner a few night back on Instagram, there were several people commenting “I’d Hate To Have To Clean That Dish!“.

To be quite honest, the baking dish was not as ‘bad’ as I’ve had to deal with in the past.. when I do meals in the oven with more sugar based marinades. The sugars tend to be the main culprit in casing the tough baked-on mess we all struggle to clean.

For my Instagram friends who I promised to share my tip for dealing with hard to clean oven pans or dishes, here all you need to do.

  1. Rinse off any debris that can come off easily.
  2. Put a few drops of your favorite dish washing soap in the dish.
  3. Pour in warm water to the top (all the way up where the stains are)
  4. Place a dryer fabric sheet (the sheets you put in your laundry’s dryer to prevent static cling and to soften/perfume your clothes) in the dish (poke it down a little) and let it sit overnight.
  5. The next morning all you have to do is remove the dryer sheet, dump the water out and wash as you would normally wash your dishes.

Here is the video I did showing the process…
